II. About the School of Arts
The School of Arts comprises four departments: Fine Arts, Music, Dance, and Theatre & Film, alongside the Arts Education Department. It houses two provincial-level key research centers and offers four undergraduate programs: Painting, Musicology, Dance, and Performance (with Dance designated as a national first-class major). The school provides doctoral program of Art Management and master’s programs of Art Studies, Music and Fine Arts & Calligraphy, with over 170 postgraduate students (including PhD candidates) and 1,600 undergraduates.
Faculty Highlights:
114 full-time faculty, including 13 professors, 32 associate professors, 3 PhD supervisors, and 52 master’s supervisors, 14 national and provincial-level talents.31 faculty members with doctoral degrees and 33 with overseas study experience (from Germany, Ukraine, Russia, etc.).
Facilities include concert hall, art gallery, dance studio, and 20,000 sqm of specialized workshops. Recent achievements include 12 national-level projects (e.g., National Social Science Fund, National Arts Fund) and 67 provincial grants. Collaborations span institutions like Germany’s Trossingen Conservatory and Ukraine’s Prokofiev National Conservatory.
Student works have been featured in national exhibitions and award ceremonies (e.g., “Five-One Project Award,”“Lotus Award”). Over 10 courses are available on platforms like XuetangX.
