Founded on June 1, 2010, the Nanchang University Si Fang Art Research Institute operates as a university-level independent research institution under the auspices of the School of Arts. Anchored by the Jiangxi Si Fang Painting and Calligraphy Institute, it upholds the mission of "cultivating virtue through art and fostering humanity with aesthetics," dedicated to promoting outstanding traditional Chinese culture, family values education, and regional artistic development.
I.Academic Leadership
Led by Fang Yuan, Deputy Secretary-General of the Chinese Painting Art Committee of the Jiangxi Artists Association and Committee Member of the Fine Arts Committee of the Jiangxi Art Education Association, the institute assembles key provincial arts education professionals into an interdisciplinary research team. In recent years, it has undertaken major projects such as the Jiangxi Provincial Cultural Arts Fund Key Program, yielding significant achievements in creation, research, dissemination, and international exchange.
II. Artistic Practice
The creative collective has garnered widespread acclaim, with eight national exhibitions and twelve provincial exhibitions featured over the past three years. Notable works include:

Hosting the Courtyard of Abundance—20th Anniversary Exhibition of Jiangxi Si Fang Painting and Calligraphy Institute(2022), celebrated for its artistic excellence.
Establishing a sustained public education program, organizing over 30 events annually (e.g., family tradition lectures, literary forums), reaching over 10,000 participants.
Media coverage includes features in Art Newspaper and Jiangxi Daily. The Fang Yun Family was honored as a 2022 National Model Family for exemplary contributions.
IV. Scholarly Contributions
Emphasizing academic rigor and cultural preservation, the institute has published three monographs, including The Hidden Beauty of the Nation, systematically documenting Jiangxi’s artistic heritage. Collaborations with institutions like the Fujian Provincial Art Museum foster cross-regional dialogue. Ongoing research focuses on revitalizing traditional crafts and red cultural resources, providing strategic support for local cultural development.
