On March 2, 2026, Nanchang University held a ceremonial event to confer the title of Visiting Professor upon Mr. Yu Jihua at the College of Fine Arts. The event was attended by Mr. Luo Sihai, Party Committee Secretary of Nanchang University; Mr. Tan Zhenxing, Director of the United Front Work Department and Director of the Personnel Office; and faculty and student representatives from the college. The ceremony was presided over by Dean Zheng Lu.

During the event, Mr. Luo Sihai presented Mr. Yu with the Visiting Professor appointment letter and official university badge. Mr. Tan Zhenxing elaborated on Mr. Yu’s artistic achievements and announced the appointment decision. Attendees viewed a video titled A Glimpse into Mr. Yu Jihua’s Artistic Legacy, which showcased his contributions to ceramic art.

Mr. Yu delivered a lecture entitled The Art of Cloisonné Enamel: From Imperial Craft to Cultural Heritage. Drawing on over five decades of experience in ceramic art and porcelain design, he recounted his journey of revitalizing traditional cloisonné enamel techniques, making royal-craft techniques accessible to the public. Background on Mr. Yu Jihua
Mr. Yu serves as:Director of Jingdezhen Ceramic Development Center;Research Fellow at Jingdezhen Ceramic Research Institute;Chairman of Jingdezhen Ceramic Artists Association;Third-generation inheritor of the century-old Nipaozhaiceramic workshop;A National People’s Congress deputy (13th and 14th sessions), Mr. Yu has dedicated his career to bridging traditional craftsmanship with modern innovation. His efforts in safeguarding intangible cultural heritage and advancing ceramic art internationally have earned widespread acclaim.
