December 27, Yan Baolin, professor from Zhejiang Conservatory of Music, delivered an academic lecture on "Artistic Expression and Training System of Choral Conducting" to teachers and students of the music department in Room B117 of the Art Building.
Based on his decades of conducting practice and teaching experience, Mr. Yan provided incisive explanations ranging from the precision of conducting gestures, the shaping of tonal layers, the ensemble lineup and the training methods. Through case studies of classic choral works, he demonstrated how different conducting techniques affect the presentation of a piece, allowing the audience to intuitively experience the charm and essence of conducting art. During the interactive session, Mr. Yan answered the questions from teachers and students regarding practical conducting techniques and team rehearsals.
