The Fine Arts & Calligraphy major currently offers three professional directions: Oil Painting, Chinese Painting & Calligraphy, and Cross-media. It aims to cultivate high-level, application-oriented specialized talents who systematically master professional knowledge in fine arts and calligraphy and possess high-level creative skills.
The program has 17 master’s supervisors of 9 professors and 8 associate professors. In recent years, the faculty has undertaken one National Social Science Fund project, one sub-project of a Major National Social Science Fund Project and 20 national and provincial research projects. Faculty members have participated in the National Art Exhibition 9 times and national-level exhibitions 27 times, held 6 solo exhibitions.
On-campus facilities include art gallery, design gallery, supervisor studios, painting creation studios, digital media studios, comprehensive modeling studios, and professional classrooms. The exhibition of coursework, creation works and innovation and entrepreneurship achievements has become a regular feature, with over 40 exhibitions held annually.
Regarding practice bases, the school has co-established 10 sketching practice bases and 8 academic investigation and creation practice bases. The program also invites experts from relevant practice fields to serve as industry mentors,graduate students can participate in the creation projects of off-campus mentors, units such as the Jiangxi Painting Academy, Jiangxi Research Institute of Culture and Arts, Jiangxi Fine Arts Publishing House, Jiangxi Art Museum, and Badashanren Memorial Hall participate in the training of Master of Fine Arts students.
