The Music major offers four professional directions: Western Instrument Performance, Chinese Instrument Performance, Vocal Performance, and Choral Conducting. It aims to cultivate high-level, application-oriented specialized music talents who systematically master professional music knowledge and possess high-level skills in music creation and performance.
The program currently has 17 master’s supervisors, including 7 professors and 10 associate professors. Four faculty members have overseas experience. In the past five years, the faculty has undertaken one National Social Science Fund project, two National Arts Fund projects, two national ministry-level projects, and dozens of provincial research project and won dozens of national and provincial professional awards.
The program boasts domestic first-class teaching facilities and research environments, including concert hall, chamber music performance hall, TV broadcasting studio, rehearsal halls, academic lecture halls, individual professor studios, and advanced network teaching facilities.
Academic exchange and joint development projects have been established with renowned domestic and international universities such as the Central Conservatory of Music, China Conservatory of Music, Conservatorio di Musica Tito Schipa di Lecce (Italy), Birmingham City University (UK), State University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart (Germany), and Hoseo University (South Korea), providing a solid foundation for graduate studies and research.
In the past five years, graduate students have achieved fruitful results in professional practice, winning over ten national awards including the Chinese Music Golden Bell Award and the Peacock Cup National Higher Arts Colleges Vocal Performance, as well as dozens of provincial awards in events like the Jiangxi Music and Dance Festival and the National College Student Art Exhibition.
