On the morning of July 3rd, the “Cultural Exchange, Youth Together” “China-Russia Youth Yangtze River Tour” to Charming Jiangxi Summer Camp, hosted by the Yangtze River-Volga University Alliance and organized by Nanchang University (NCU), officially opened at the Kandinsky Hall of Art Building, NCU. Wang Li, Vice President of NCU, attended the event and delivered a speech. Zheng Lu, Dean of the School of Arts, presented the flag to the summer camp. Ten faculty members and students from Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University (NNTU) in Russia, together with representatives of faculty and students from Nanchang University, will embark on a 4-day China-Russia cultural exchange journey.
The opening ceremony kicked off with the melodious chorus of Xiaoya-Deer Singing, conveying the excellent Chinese cultural tradition of “treating guests with courtesy and making friends through music”.
On behalf of NCU, Wang Li extended a warm welcome to the Russian teachers and students participating in the summer camp. He pointed out that China and Russia are further deepening their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership of Coordination for a New Era, serving as a model for cooperation between major countries and neighboring nations in today’s world. He expressed hope that through this Jiangxi trip, the youth of both countries would enhance mutual understanding, find resonance, and move forward side by side. He hoped they would inherit and deepen the friendship between China and Russia through mutual learning of civilizations, and use this summer camp as an opportunity to promote broader and deeper cooperation between Nanchang University and Russian universities.
Ms. Khodykina Olga Aleksandrovna, Director of the International Office of Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University, and a Russian student representative spoke successively. They expressed their gratitude to Nanchang University for providing Russian university students with this valuable opportunity to visit China and understand its national conditions, culture, and arts. They praised this event for fully embodying the profound friendship, mutual trust, and assistance between the two peoples.
The “China-Russia Youth Yangtze River Tour” to Charming Jiangxi is a sub-project of the Yangtze River-Volga University Alliance’s “China-Russia Youth Yangtze River Tour”. Through diverse activities such as art workshops, cultural salons, ecological lectures, field trips, and social gatherings, the project allows campers to immerse themselves in excellent traditional Chinese culture—including folk songs, folk music, ceramics, painting and calligraphy, tea art, and traditional opera. It provides an opportunity to understand the charming history and culture of Jiangxi, witness the rapid development of the Ganpo region, promote friendly exchanges between the youth of both countries, and build a bridge of friendship between Chinese and Russian youth.
